NOIR. Black. Because it's made from a black grape named Pinot Noir.
BLANC. White. Because the wine has a pale colour, a pale pink.
BLANC DE NOIRS is how you call a white wine that is made from black grapes.
This happens because the wine is produced from grapes that have had their skin peeled off.
The skin of the grape is what gives wine its colour.
Today I'd like to present Gloria Ferrer Blanc de Noirs:
A superb, pale pink champagne, I mean, Sparkling wine.
Grown, produced, and bottled in Gloria Ferrer,
the little family owned winery in Sonoma, California, that I'm in love with.
